History
Sydney’s CBD has become the financial heart of Australia, but don’t let that put you off – it’s also a very nice place to live, visit and wonder about.

Amongst the skyscrapers, Sydney-the-suburb has fine parks, superb restaurants, and excellent amenities, all within walking distance of one of the finest harbours in the world, as well as offering world class shopping.

It’s the heart of the city
If you live in Sydney 2000, you're always at the heart of the action with easy access to cinemas, restaurants, clubs and bistros offering a multitude of choice. It’s convenient
If you’re planning on living here, chances are your office will be within easy walking distance of your apartment. This makes life very convenient with little use for a motor vehicle. Being Green is Big
Both Hyde Park and The Domain makes the Sydney CBD much greener than you might expect, as well as the botanical gardens. It’s got everything
With Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, and The Rocks all within walking distance, residents of the suburb of Sydney never run out of options for entertainment.

A healthy lifestyle
The City has some great facilities for keeping fit and healthy.

If you like to swim, there’s the aquatic centre in Cook + Philip Park. Just out the door, you can replenish your carbohydrates with Bodhi’s fresh vegetarian cuisine.

There’s also a wide range of commercial gyms, including The Health Club in Martin Place and two gyms run by Fitness First, and City Tattersall’s Club.

If you have children...
Some of the Australia’s finest private schools are within the 2000 postcode:

  • Sydney Grammar School,
  • SCEGGS Darlinghurst, and
  • James Ruse Agricultural High School
For older students, good public transport in and out of the CBD makes commuting to many other fine school easy.

Eating out
It’s impossible to run out of restaurants when you’re living in the CBD, catering for all tastes from modest to fine cuisine.
